For the first page in any MLA document it is important to remember the title, and the author information!
Author information will always start the essay, to the far left of the page, write your name (the author of the essay), with the name of the professor double spaced below that. Beneath that will be the Course key and Course # (For example, POPC 1600), and finally the date.
With these four keys in place, you can move on to the title of the essay, which will be centered in the middle of the page in 12 pt. Times New Romans. Note that the title will have NOTHING additional to it other than Title Case, and should not be in all capital letters.
Double spaced below that is the start of the actual essay, first line of the paragraph indented as it will be for the rest of the paper as well.
MLA does not use title pages, and unless a professor specifically requires one for an assignment, one should not be added.
